Why Do Our Consults Incur an Out of Pocket Fee?

Australian governments have failed to increase the Medicare rebate to match the rise in Consumer Price Index (CPI). They have also failed to provide sufficient funding for general practice.

As a result, many GP Practices now charge an out-of-pocket fee for consultation with a GP. These practice fees are set to cover the increased running costs and so we can continue to provide long-term, high quality care for our community, while being able to offer bulk-billing to those who need it most.
Please note that we will continue to Bulk-Bill children aged 12 and under on weekdays.

We do not believe that it is in the best interests of your health to issue repeat prescriptions and referrals without consultation. Please ensure that all your prescriptions and referrals are up to date when consulting your doctor. Standard consultation fees apply.

Once you  have paid your account in full, our friendly reception team can submit the claim to Medicare on your behalf, via a online secure claiming. If you have provided your bank details to Medicare you rebate will be paid into your nominated account within 2 working days. You can register online at www.medicareaustralia.gov.au/online or by visiting your local Medicare office. For your protection, the practice does not submit or retain any patient banking information.
